Developing Absolute Pitch

The goal of many musicians and singers is developing absolute pitch. Developing absolute pitch. The rewards are great for those of us who succeed. It takes a lot of work and a lot of practice. Have you ever noticed a musician who improvising or soloing over a piece of music and seems to know exactly what notes to play over all of the chords changes in the music? Well he or she has put in the time and patience needed to learn this skill.

Absolute pitch ( or perfect pitch) is the ability hearing a song or melody and be able to name the notes or tones in the music. Having this type of skill, will make you have a huge advantage over other musicians.

Singers will be able to look at sheet music and sing it without the use of music before the rehearsal. Learning this skill will make you very popular in the music field and may be very profitable. Here are some items that will you in developing absolute pitch.

1.Scales-You should know all twelve major and their minor scales. You don't have to memorize all of them, just know how they are formed. Just remember for every major scale or key, there is a minor key scale that has the same key signature.

2.Chords are a group of notes played together to produce a certain type of sound.

3.Intervals are the distance in pitch between two notes or tones.
